TOM MARTIN - Drummer, percussionist
| Starts to play professionally in Croatia with 17 in blues bands, the "R&B", on TV, concerts, tours. 1977: Conservatory of music in Zagreb. He starts jobs like house studio musician in main state studio; plays with stars of the "Show Biz", different rock pop groups (TV, tours, and records). 1979: Plays with Experimental Jazz group “SPLIT Quintet”, who get the 1st reward-Festival of Experimental Music in Subotica (Yugoslavia). Tours in Italy, Austria, Soviet Union. In early 80ies Tom Martin arrives in Paris; he plays experimental-improvisational music, jazz, theatre, rock, funk and world-music. 1987: "Salcedo" Band-1ere Prix du Festival de la chanson française, Tarbes. 1990: In the beginning 90ies he starts to experiment with electronic instruments. Creation of DATA ERROR experimental jazz electronic Group (CD "Le Retour"-"Label La Lichere"). Concerts: Jazz Festival of Grenoble, Jazz Festival of Montpellier, Figeac-Summer Festival, Jazz Festival Radio France-Paris, MIDEM 91 Cannes, in Zagreb (Croatia), Jazz Festival of Levico-Italy, "Live" on Radio Europe 1-Paris. Lots of concerts in clubs in Paris and all over the France with other groups ("Frogmouth Funk Blues Band" among others). 1997: Creation of "Solo Performance" solo project based on improvisations with electronic percussions instruments (command for Art Festival of Palma-Palma de Mallorca). Lives in Luxembourg since 1998: Meeting and concert "India Meets Europe" with "Music of Benares"-Masters of Indian Music Creating of "Luma Luma" Electro-Ethnic Trio with Lex Gillen (didgeridoo) and Mike Schuh (bass). Festival Musiques « sacrées musique-2004 » with Luma Luma, member in the « The George Norton Band“, member in the trio, called “Ethnolution” (www.homepages.lu/ethnolution) and finally drummer in “Real Time Spinners”. He starts to play at the first concerts of this rock-band and participates at the cd-studio recordings for the first cd of the "Real Time Spinners". Since 2010: drummer in "Real Time Spinners". |
